For this little girl’s first birthday we did a family session including visiting grandparents before her cake smash studio session.
We ventured into the foothills for this beautiful Fall location.
I love this foothills location with beautiful Aspen trees and field.
We decided to do early morning for this family session since we all know little ones of this age do better in the morning.
It was pretty fun to be out early and only ones in the park.
We decided morning will work best for this little guy and met early at a local park.
I have photographed this family many times. I know mom likes the traditional portraits (all looking at the camera) to fill in her photo wall at home but dad prefers the candid photos showing more the personalities of each kiddo. So I took a combo of these and gave them plenty of options to choose from.
This family is such an active outdoor family - running, biking, soccer. So it was kind of strange to see them all dressed up and combed hair for their 'nice' portraits, but then they got in their soccer gear and they really were in the element :)
Mom Jenny and I have been keeping an eye on the weather since November and finally got the snow day we were planning. It was freeeezing so we had to be extra fast and poor Luke's little nose turned so red but he still looks adorable although his whole expression tells us he prefers warmer weather.
A fun family photoshoot in late afternoon sun. It's been such a warm January so snow and cold was not an issue. We even managed to get grandpa in visiting.
This Grandmother had a great idea - Valentine's cards! So we met at my favorite red barn late January with the entire family - and dogs.
This is what she said afterwards: "Just wanted to say thank you again for accommodating our large family for a photo shoot. You chose a gorgeous setting and did a an excellent job capturing our lively group! You magically got grandkids and grand dogs to cooperate! I appreciated how quickly you returned the edited images to us!"
